Kitchen Design & Remodel in Sacramento, CA 95831
The kitchen in this Sacramento home now reads as calm and uncomplicated - soft gray-painted cabinetry, a quiet stone counter, and a glazed backsplash that catches the light differently as the day moves. Day to day, it works as cleanly as it looks: more usable storage, durable surfaces that wipe down in seconds, and even, layered lighting that does away with the old single-fixture shadows. We took it down to the studs at the work zones, pulling out the existing cabinets, the tile countertop, and the dated backsplash before building it back to a simple, modern plan our in-house designer developed with the homeowners.
Waypoint semi-custom cabinetry in the 410F painted style, color Boulder, sets the tone, topped with custom Viatera quartz in Aura cut to a two-centimeter slab with a mitered edge for a thicker, cleaner profile. Behind the range and along the counters we set Floor & Decor Zellige Pearl Opal tile, its handmade variation softened by Mapei Frost grout and finished with white Schluter trim at the exposed edges. The farm sink, faucet, garbage disposal, and appliances were fitted to the new cabinetry and stone, with cutouts fabricated for the sink, faucet, and air gap.
On the electrical side, we added recessed LED cans for general light, wired pendants over the key counter run, and brought outlets and switches up to code with GFCI protection. We relocated a few devices to suit the new layout, added receptacles where the design called for them, and ran a dedicated line for appliance use.
