James Hardie Lap Siding Installation in Sebastopol, CA 95472

The homeowners here wanted a fresh, weather-tough exterior that could stand up to everything a Sebastopol climate throws at a house - fog, sun, and the occasional cold snap - without constant upkeep. We stripped the old siding back to the studs and rebuilt the walls with James Hardie ColorPlus lap siding from the Statement Collection in Evening Blue, set off by crisp Arctic White trim. The result is a deep, even blue with clean white lines around every window, door, and corner.

Our crew began by setting up safety staging to reach the high walls and harder-to-access sections, then tore off all existing siding and trim and hauled the debris away. With the walls open, we inspected the framing for dry rot and replaced any compromised sheathing with exterior-grade OSB to keep the shear walls sound. From there we wrapped the home in HardieWrap weather barrier, sealed window and door openings with Forti-Flash rubberized flashing, and installed metal z-flashing for long-term moisture protection. The 8.25-inch smooth lap siding went on next, finished with 5/4x4 ColorPlus trim around the openings and corners.

To round out the front, we extended the work to the garage face with matching siding and trim, and painted the eaves, fascia, garage door, and foundation so the whole exterior reads as one cohesive package.
