Job Description: We are seeking a dynamic and driven Decking Sales Representative to join our team at GVD Renovations. In this role, you will be the face of our company, responsible for selling a diverse range of decking and railing products to residential customers. Your primary goal will be to understand each customer's unique needs and preferences, then provide tailored solutions that enhance their outdoor living spaces. With access to a steady stream of qualified leads, you will have the opportunity to work with an extensive selection of products, including:

• Wood Decks: Classic and timeless options for a natural look.
• Composite Decks: Durable and low-maintenance alternatives.
• Covered Decks: Perfect for year-round use and weather protection.
• Cedar Decks: Premium, aromatic wood known for its resistance to decay.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Engagement: Meet with residential customers to discuss their decking needs and preferences, providing personalized recommendations.
• Product Presentation: Present and promote our extensive range of decking and railing products, highlighting the benefits and features of each option.
• Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients through exceptional customer service and follow-up.
• Quoting and Estimating: Provide detailed and accurate quotes and estimates for decking projects, ensuring transparency and trust.
• Design Assistance: Draw basic deck designs to help customers visualize their projects and make informed decisions.
• Sales Achievement: Close sales efficiently, aiming to achieve or exceed sales targets consistently.
• Customer Follow-Up: Ensure customer satisfaction by following up post-sale, addressing any concerns, and fostering positive client experiences.
• Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on the latest industry trends and product knowledge to effectively educate and inform customers.

Qualifications

• Sales Experience: Proven experience in outside sales, particularly with decking products, is essential.
• Design Skills: Experience with deck design and the ability to draw basic deck designs is highly preferred.
• Construction Knowledge: Understanding of construction codes related to decking.
• In-Home Sales: Must have a background in in-home sales, ideally as a consultant for an exterior renovation company.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients.
• Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and closing skills to secure sales.
• Independence: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and self-motivate.
• Product Knowledge: Familiarity with decking products from DuraLife, Deckorators, DekPro, Fiberon, and Barrette Outdoor Living is highly desirable.
• Transportation: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Service Area

This role covers the entire Bay Area, including:

• South Bay: San Jose, Cupertino, Oakland
• East Bay
• Peninsula
• North Bay Area
• Sonoma County
• Napa

Compensation

This position offers a competitive commission-based pay structure, with 8-10% commission on all sales made. This setup provides a substantial opportunity for high earnings, directly linked to your sales performance.
